can a widget persist data locally for offline viewing

The API reference has calls for sysinfo.drivesize() to determine what storage space is available yet I can't find any method for addressing the storage.

Apologies if I am missing the obvious.

    Hi Steve,

no current APIs allow you to write data to local storage. Only way to locally save textual data is by using widget.setPreferenceForKey() method.

A workaround to access low-level functionalities would be to implement and use a helper C++ application, that communicates with your widget via local HTTP requests.
