Thumbs down UI designer not symbian signed friendly

I find it really difficult to work with UI designer and have unique binary name using your UID as recommended by Symbian Signed since all binaries live in the same directory.

    In a few points:
    * No way to get it working when generating new project unless you name it using your UID and are happy with UID in class names source code file names: everywhere. I'm not!
    * I changed the mmp and other resources to name exe, rsc, and reg.rsc using the UID
    * Yet uidesign generator always over right section of your files containing the .rsg which stupidly now has to have the UID in its name.

I'll probably eventually get it working by having a MyApp.rsg which just included MyApp_0xbaadf00d.rsg.

Anyway it's not really important to understand the whys. It's just yet another typically Symbian development time wasting situation. It's a shame uidesigner project managers did not read Symbian Signed guidelines. Hope it gets fixed at some point.

Having complained about that I have to say I'm very impressed by the uidesigner otherwise

    That's Carbide 2.0.
Do you name your binaries (exe and resources) using UID suffix?
Could you use the wizard to generate a project with UID suffix without polluting your class names and source file names?

I've opened a ticket about that issue on the Carbide.C++ defect tracking system:
