[moved] E50:Application not compatible with phone

    Hi All,

I am trying to install a .sis application on E50(which retrives the IMSI number) but when i try to install it, i am getting the message "application not compatible with phone. Continue Anyway?" and on clicking Yes "Required Application access not granted" message is coming and the installations gets cancelled. Is there any thing wrong which i m going?

    Regards
    Sumeet Kumar

The first problem is that you have not specified the platform in your pkg file, and the second one is that you are using capabilities that are not grated for self-signed applications (or your certificate does not have the capabilities in it).

Re: E50:Application not compatible with phone

Select right platform UID from here.
    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...fication_codes

Then set it in your .pkg as follows.

    Code:
    [0x101F7961], 0, 0, 0, {"Series60ProductID"}
For capabilitiies, open your .mmp file and add capability required for your application.

    Code:
    capability WriteDeviceData WriteUserData "add here"

    Hi All,

I have done both the things suggested by you....but still i m getting the error message "Required Application access not granted". Is there any thing more which i need to do. The application which i m trying to install is retrieving the IMSI number.

It will create self-signed certificate, while you require developer certificate. Either use open signed online option to sign your application Or follow this link and create developer certificates.

First and foremost, you would require ReadDeviceData capability as you are trying to retrieve IMSI, which I believe, you are using GetSubscriberId() from CTelephony API. Hence you need to include that capability in your .mmp file. Re-build your application and it will generate .Sis file.

When you use OpenSigned Online option, you have to select all the capabilities you have used in your application on the OpenSigned Online form. It should not take too much time to sign your .sis file but it may take one-two days; with my own experience.

Alternatively you can try submitting again with your another e-mail id and see how much time it takes then.

PS: Before submitting, please read all the steps given on the OpenSigned Online form.
