    1. Will the signed sis file work on FP2 phones ??
    2. Will the signed sis file work on initial release phone ??

    Please reply

    Re: Question abt symbian Sign

    It all depends on which APIs you are using .
    But if you are sticking with common APIs For v3.x then yes is the answer for your both questions.

    Oh Thanks for reply...
    I am using Common API except,
    1. For detecting current profile of phone
    Class ProEngFactory
    2. For context help :
    CArrayFix<TCoeHelpContext>* buf = CCoeAppUi::AppHelpContextL();
    HlpLauncher::LaunchHelpApplicationL(iEikonEnv->WsSession(), buf);

    Which is not there in plain initial release.....

    Now
    1. Will it work on initial initial release ?
    2. Will it work on FP2 ?

    Thanks and Regards
    Swapnil

    That API has been introduced in S60 3rd FP1 and it should work on S60 3rd FP1 and FP2 devices. You can also try executing your application on S60 3rd edition initial release phones. You should have already done that prior to asking this question.

    Anyways you should change the design of your application and use the API which will work on all S60 3rd edition devices. To start with that, just search for "Profile" on the Forum Nokia Wiki.

    It has been there since S60 3rd edition initial release. Hence it should work just fine on all the S60 3rd Edition devices.

    I hope that helps.
