Privacy Dialog: excess click or useful?

    Hello Folks,
I am currently working on making LocaNote fit Symbian Signed Criteria - and stumbled across the IMHO stupid privacy dialog which requires an extra tap from the user and IMHO tells him nothing he doesnt already know.

I wanted to ask you guys what you think about them. Nseless, Neccessary or greatest thing since sliced bread - let me know!

    All the best

I feel its neccessary since the user should know for example that the device may be using your location data without your consent.

Personally a lot of this functionality should have been built into the OS and not over ridable so the user always stays in control. Billable is another example where it should have been done by the OS and not left to applications to get right. The user can then have the option to select always, once, never.

Anyway the privacy and billable events are both flagged as Symbian Signed warnings and not mandatory.

    Hi,
so does this mean that ignoring them does not get me into trouble?

If yes, this is just what I'll do .

As for this being part of tzhe OS: my words. S60 lacks in so many areas compared to othert OSses that it really is painful in many cases...for example, adding a context menu to a list...
