Best Dev Environment for Ringtone Selector Program?

    Hi All,

This is my first post, so forgive me if this has been answered already. I've been searching this forum, and I still don't have a clear picture as to which development environment I should use to create my own RingTone Selector program for the Nokia 6500 Classic. I would like to do the following but not sure which dev environment would be best, Python or Symbian C++, or something else.

    Incoming Call
(Check to see if a default ringtone has been set for incoming call)
IF incoming call has ringtone set THEN
Play default set Ringtone for incoming call/user
Select a random ringtone from the
ringtone list (array) or from file location.

I would like the program to start automatically every time I reboot the phone, and maybe store my personal ringtones into an array, and work from the array.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Nokia 6500 classic is a Series 40 device so your only programming options are Java and Flash Lite. Python and Symbian C++ won't work I'm afraid.

As for your requirement, you should search the Java and Flash Lite forums in case you can find something and if you don't, you can ask there.

    Good luck.
