    Using Mifare card on 6212

    HI all there,
I'm using a Mifare card for paying my food in the cafeteria ^^
Now I brought the 6212 and like to know how I can put these card
on my 6212 for further payments with my mobile phone?
Furthermore is there a developer manual for Nokia 6212 available?
Omnikey 5321 Reader/writer is on hand.
    Regards H

Re: Using Mifare card on 6212

None replies yet so let me put this together with a second question.
I'd like to know how i can store a card on my Nokia 6212. Not for payment only for identification.
For example: we use our study card (rfid mifare chip) for entrance to closed rooms. If i can load this card to my Nokia 6212 i could verify the identification instead of using the card with my mobile phone. That would be cool
    Any ideas???

How did you start using the external mifare card ? I mean who loaded the currency into the card for doing payments for the food ? I would presume some external reader to have loaded the currency into your mifare card and would have changed the access keys of the sector. I am afraid you may not be able to transfer it to the phone (or any other mifare card) yourself.

    Question or conclusion ???

I start loading the currency into the card on a terminal. Money in, card on the reader -> done.
Forget the currency card, lets talk about identification card, this must be easier to realise.
I have a ID card for entrance authentification. This should be done with my 6212.
So how could I make an image of the card and store it on the mobile phone?
    Sorry, can't do it myself.....

You cant duplicate/copy a card like that if the info that is put in the card is not your own. You would need the keys to access the sectors of the card that contains the access/money info. The credibility of the info on the card is only useful, when others cant duplicate the card. Imagine, If you were able to transfer the info from card to the phone then you would be able to authenticate using the card as well as the phone. While you can authenticate using the phone you could give the card to an unauthorized friend. This defeats the purpose of authorization.

    Thanks for your reply,
I've to ask my university for the key.
If they do so do I need to unlock the secure element on the 6212?

No, dont unlock your SE. It will become useless for any other secure apps once unlocked.
Though I havent succesfully added anything to the mifare on the phone, I am sure there must be a
way to do it without unlocking the phone. May be wait for some experts to answer this.

    I'm with you.
The Nokia 6212 uses a mifare chip as well, so cards could be dumped and stored on the phone. There must be a simple way to use cards on the phone.

Re: Using Mifare card on 6212

News: I've successfully dumped my card. The MFD File can be stored on other cards. I tested it with other cards and it works fine. So I stored the file on the 6212 but nothing....... Think I need an midlet? Did anybody have experience in using images from the 6212??? The image is an ID for door access no payment strings to handle or encrypted connection.

Are you sure you have successfully written the card data into the 6212?
Does this dump contain the keys?
Have you unlocked the secure Element from the 6212?
Otherwise, how do you know its access keys?

No, I stored the file on the memory card but the internal 6212 chip doesn't accept it. The secure element is unlocked. Yes, sure the dump contains the keys from the original card. I dont know how to use the dump file with my 6212.

Can you detail the procedure how you tried to write the mifare?

Can you paste the contents of one random sector here, just for confirmation? The reason I am asking this is because when you read the sectors that contain the keys, the values read are always FF (and this doesn't mean that the key is all FF).

    Hi RicardoPortela,
What I found out know is that I need a tool to use the internal mifare chip with the dumps. Only uploading the image to the nokia memory card is not support.
If you can link me to a tool to view Hex-code I can paste you the sektors bits.

As for the Hexadecimal display viewer, just do a search on "hexadecimal editors".

To successfully write the card, you will need a mifare reader/writer, and the keys to the mifare card on the 6212.
This is exactly the same as writing a normal mifare 4k card.
