    Question How do I create a link the the S60 App Menu?

    Hi,

    AFAIU you can create a Icon for Flash Lite 2 onwards by creating a symbian 'stub' application that launches the swf file. Is this the only way to register an application in the S60 App view?

    What was the solution for Flash Lite 1.1?

    I'm assuming the services from Nokia and KunuriLite create this 'stub' application for you?

    Thanks for any help and pointers.

    I think widgets can also derive this task now. But YES! widgets are supported only in few 3rd edition phones i.e all S60 3rd FP2 phones and few other phones like N95 etc.More about widgets here:

    Same solution , u can create flash lite (1.1 , 2.0, 2.1, 3.0) stub in symbian c++ .

    Yes! Kuneri lite, Janus Symbian and if u dont want to download SDKs then u can use the online packaging tool SWFPACK can make a swf launcher and pack this & ur swf contents into a sis file for FREE. .Hope it helps u..

    According to the documentation here http://library.forum.nokia.com/index...D2BE43C37.html

    <quote>To use stub applications, the target device must support Flash Lite 2.0 or newer.</quote>

    Are you 100% sure Flash Lite 1.1 can be supported as you have stated?

    I'm not concerned with Widgets (ie. WebKit JavaScript objects) I'm interested in Flash Lite.

    Thanks for your reply :-) Cheers

    There is a difference between FLash Lite Stub & FLash Lite Launcher & by looking at the Title "HOw do i create a link in the S60 App Menu?" Then yes a swf launcher can derive this task. The advantage of stub over launcher is its few features like Stub allows to increase the heap size etc.Therefore, u can create a swf launcher for Flash Lite 1.1 but not a stub. I personally created a swf launcher for flash lite 1.1 after reading this article :
    Swf Launcher
    & it is working fine .Hope it helps u...

    Thanks, I see now that there are two ways to 'launch' a Flashlite application using a symbian 'stub' application... Thanks for the info. Cheers
