    Please help with encoding...

    Hi,

    I have a unicode project.
    I have a russian text string in the resource file with "CHARACTER_SET UTF8".
    I want to get this string from resource file in the UCS2 encoding.

    How can I do this? Please help! I'm going crazy with this encodings hell...

    Thanks.

    Ok, please tell me... I do the following:
    Code:
    HBufC* string = iEikonEnv->AllocReadResourceLC(R_MY_LINE);
    And in which encoding characters stored in "string"? UTF8 (because CHARACTER_SET is UTF8) or UCS-2 (becuse HBufC is the HBufC16)?...

    Straight from the SDK :-

    All Symbian OS builds are Unicode, and descriptors containing an internal representation of text will be 16-bit strings. Internally, Symbian OS uses UCS-2 (Little Endian). Class names such as TPtr should be used in code; objects of this class will be built as objects of the class TPtr16.
    Cheers,
