    Dedifferentiating WLAN access points

    Hi all

    From an IAP table I am reading IAP_BEARER field. What I was expecting to get is, ECommDbBearerWLAN for all those WLAN APs and ECommDbBearerGPRS for all GPRS/WAP access points. Testing on devices gave KCommDbBearerCSD as IAP_BEARER value for WLAN access points. I used an N80 and an E61 with same service provider for testing.

    Is this a correct approach to find out whether a given access point is WLAN or GPRS?

    Awaiting response.

    Best regards

    Have you checked all access points? Note that although CSD access points are filtered out by the AP selection dialog, they can be still present in the device (configured by the SIM card for example).

    Hi

    Thank you for your immediate replay.

    What I was doing is listing all APs from comms DB and listing their IAP_BEARER value. So the values for WLAN access points are retrieved as KCommDbBearerCSD(value is “1”). The API I am using to get IAP table is

    OpenIAPTableViewMatchingBearerSetLC(ECommDbBearerGPRS| CommDbBearerWLAN| ECommDbBearerVirtual, ECommDbConnectionDirectionOutgoing);

    And for bearer value is

    iAPTable->ReadUintL(TPtrC(IAP_BEARER), myID)

    The value is consistent for all WLAN access point I have on my device.

    Best regards
