    Exclamation Publishing QA Pitfalls

Just an FYI thread for developers/publishers so they can get QA passed on the first round:

    INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT:
(or the list of places I won't be partying)

I received the following reject notice today:

Thank you for submitting...This item did not
pass our quality assurance (QA) process.

    Comments from the QA team:
Please modify the distribution for this content item since preview images and content items containing references to controversial subjects such as alcohol, tobacco, drugs, gambling, betting or casinos (poker, dice & card games etc.), religion, interaction between different sexes (flirting, kissing, hugging, touching), references to sexuality in general or images of females/males wearing skimpy clothing (bikinis, swimming suits, tight dresses, t-shirts, shorts etc.) won’t be published in sensitive countries such as

Bangladesh, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia (in Asia-Pacific)

Albania, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan (in Europe)

Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Burkina Faso, Chad, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Gambia, Guinea, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen (in Middle East and Africa).

    Steps to modify country distribution:

    1. Unlock the item

    2. Go to “Distribution” tab

    3. Choose the “Countries” tab and mark countries above as failed

    4. Save and lock the item

I guess that means no Muscle March Mobile for Kuwait.

    Question Re: Publishing QA Pitfalls

    Hi,
The U.K. Advertising Standards Authority might have trouble with this bit which I saw in your You Tube video
(images of females/males wearing skimpy clothing (bikinis, swimming suits, tight dresses, t-shirts, shorts etc.)

IMO its quite funny for me, but not for my partner, you will be treading on sensitive ground

You would only need 6 complaints and you would be out, they would pull the advert and be left to sell via internet, then you would need to be careful or you would get fined for breaching the ban!. Ovi store would have to deny access to your content in the U.K.

Certain States in the U.S. have stronger laws.

The lesson to be learnt here is that one countries humour is another countries offence.

The video was a joke, it's not our game (ours is a casino title). Muscle March a infamous (infamously bizarre) Japanese game for the Wii. - Sort of like Zero Wing.

The lesson is simply deselect these countries from your submission if you meet any of the listed criteria, otherwise you won't make it through QA the first time.

    Hi,
Yes didnt realise this wasnt your content. You are right about deselecting countries. This will delay your content QA definitely!. In some ways this is better to initially use countries you know there is the take up is going to be highest and you understand most.
