    Express signed

    Hi!

I'm trying to develop a dynamical web download system for our application(s)
For now where are using a developer license because we need the following capabilities:

NetworkServices ReadDeviceData ReadUserData SwEvent WriteDeviceData WriteUserData

The sis file contains of the same console exe program, but we also include different
config files and jad/jar file's wich the user self can choose from the download site.

I automatically call the makesis and the signsis programs from the webserver
and create the .pkg file on the fly. and then the generated sisx file is provided
    for the user for download.

Is it possible to use express signed in the same manner as developer signed
or do I have to sign every sis file even though it's the same UID and same exe-file
just the jad/har and configuration files that differ?

Or is there another way around this?

Yes, every sis file must be certified in order to access those capabilities. Since you generated a new sis file every time instead of redistributing a certified one you will have to pass it again through the certification process.

Alternatively, you can package and sign your appication as required for the capabilities it uses and then wrap it up (embedded SIS), together with the jar files and all the other data files, in a self-signed package generated on the fly on your server.

    Re: Express signed

Hi all, thanks for your replies.

I've managed to self sign it and embed my signed sis.
    Another problem appeared though,

The embedded signed file needs to be autostarted,

It seems that you can autostart a embedded sis file if you have the Startup api installations
in the parent sis file. But then the parent sis file can't be self-signed

    Or have I missed something?

For the moment I have two sis-files for the install. but of course it would be a lot easier for the
    user to have just one...
