Re: Invoke incoming call handle with Image

    Hi,

It isn't really possible to replace the way the phone notifies the user of incoming calls. At least not in Python. The operating system is the one that decides how announcing calls is handled and there is very little that can be done about it. You could try to use topwindow to display an image over the incoming call message when you receive a call (you can detect an incoming call using the telephone module; a search on this forum for the words "detect call" will get you a few examples).

Have you tried what I suggested? Use the call_state function from the telephone module to wait for an incoming call and, when it happens, display the image you want using topwindow. Try to do this and if you have problems post here and we'll gladly help

You can specify it's size in pixels as the size of the screen, which you can get using the display_pixels() function from the sysinfo module.

It isn't possible to display animated GIF images with PyS60, sadly. If you have the images that compose the GIF you can try to display them in a sequence with a very short interval between them (using e32.ao_sleep(seconds) to cause the delay, for example).

According to the PyS60 Library Reference (in which you can find details about all the things I said above):
    call_state(callable)
The callable will be called when there are changes in the telephone line (lines) in the device. The argument for the call is a tuple with first item the possible new state and the second item, the possible incoming call number as a Unicode string.
You should experiment with that. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask
