    Question N97 and Platform Request

    hello people ..

    A random bug is appearing on N97, when i try to generate a call using

    Code:
    midlet.platformRequest(tel);
    The user is prompted to make a call if i
    1- Decline the call by push “No” softkey. The prompting call is looping.
    2- Accept and handle the call. After having close the communication the application will be put in the foreground and then the prompting call will loop again.

    any tip ..??

    well there is no much to tell, ..

    i have an application that uses the call functionality , when i try to generate a call , the device will prompt the user that a call will be generated ( proceed yes Or no ) some times when the user decline the call , the prompting call enters a loop and keeps appearing .

    it appeared once and it is considered a fatal error ...?

    Hi,
    the prompting call enters a loop and keeps appearing
    Are you sure about the quoted lines,that the prompting is appearing in a a loop.Or it is the your canvas in loop.I think that this is the canvas,that is drawn in a loop,WHen user click the no,then try to stop the thread,if there is one,
    Thanks with Regards,

    i made a sample application with only a canvas , the application randomly loops after pressing on any key using the key pressed method of the canvas object

    Hi,
    That can be a bug,
    however will recommend to check the threads and the drawing of the canvas in your thread,try to stop the thread or the timer if there is one.
    Thanks with Regards,

    Thumbs up Re: N97 and Platform Request

    For testing leave the canvas. Take a form, Add command to form. At the hitting of that command call the platformRequest("tel:123456");
    Check still ur application is looping? Catch the exception in case of pressing No to the prompted alert generated for calling.
    No need to take any thread here..
    thanks,
    jitu_goldie..

    KEEP TRYING..

    Hi Dakoz,

    Could you share the code? We can report the bug, if needed.

    I did a simple test with Form and called the platformRequest("tel: +358xxxx") when processing the command and it worked fine.

    Best Regards,

    it works fine on a form, the problem is when using a low level API such as a Canvas - key pressed method specially

    thanx
