    Display Text with scrollbar...

    hi there,

    i want to display a "help-text" for my programm. I want to open it from the Menu.
    Until now i did something like this:

    Code:
    def help():
    globalui.global_msg_query(......
    I like it, it has a scrollbar and if you finished reading you can press "yes" to get to next topic or "no" to exit.
    But for me the window is too small.

    So is there a way to make it bigger?

    What other possibilities are ther to display text or text file (perhaps with scrollbar)?

    How should the code look like? didnt find anything till now??

    Hi,

    The way I see it you're stuck with either that (the global_msg_query, which can't be made bigger) or Text from appuifw. The appuifw2 extension has an improved version of Text called Text_display which can be customised more (it even lets you have a scrollbar).

    hi,

    i've tried to display text with appuifw2, but its not working..?

    Code:
    def help():
    	txt = appuifw2.Text(text=u'....', skinned=False, scrollbar=False)
    i dont know much about appuifw and how to use it...?

    How should code look like?

    All you have to do now is set the Text_display instance you created as the applications' body:
    Code:
    txt = appuifw2.Text(text=u'....', skinned=False, scrollbar=False)
    appuifw2.app.body = txt

    The View class is probably what you need. Its documentation, along with an example of how to use it, is available here.

    i' ve foud a module that would do the job called uikludges

    when i try a simple example:

    Code:
    import uikludges
    uikludges.query(u"Python rocks?", type="query")
    i get an error 'module' has not attribute 'query'

    wtf? this is from the uikludges.py! isn't this module able to run its own code?

    Please try this, does it say there's "query" or not?

    Code:
    import uikludges
    dir(uikludges)
    Cheers,

    hello kwik

    strange from my side too as bogdan said.

    That function works fine too in my N95 8GB. Please check that you have installed the extension properly.

    Enjoy Pythoning
