    RE: creating sockets in MIDP...

    Only HTTP is supported by MIDP1.0. Sockets are supported by MIDP2.0 OPTIONALLY. Currently all the Nokia Java phones are MIDP1.0 compliant.

    Hi,

    I've tested sockets and they work fine on the 7650!
    sample:
    StreamConnection conn = null;
    conn = (StreamConnection) Connector.open( ServerADDR, Connector.READ_WRITE, true);
    ...
    After you get the connection you'll need input or output stream to read or write (retrive or send) the data.

    The fact is that socket will work on the "internet via GPRS" and probably not on a WAP-type connection.

    But I'm almost sure that there is no way to obtain the MSISDN from a MIDlet. You should also check if sending someones phone number is legaly allowed in the country you live in.

    Greetings,
    Dejan.
