    Upload Free Applications

    Hi!

I want to publish my own free and GPL application to OVI STORE... The thing is... My application is free, why I should pay 50 euros to upload it?

I am wright? Is there a free way to publish my contents?

    bye bye

For your $50 OVI publishing membership, you get unlimited QA from Nokia, not to mention download reporting and demographics (if it ever re-becomes available). BTW- This is half of what Apple charges for their program, which has a much smaller market, and MUCH less than RIM charges.

If your OVI app packaged in a SIS, you will also have to buy or get a security certificate ($200 from TrustCenter) and pay $20 to Symbian to have it Express Signed.

However, there are lots of places you can upload and distribute a free, self-signed Symbian app for free. GetJar, Mininova, and Clickgamer/Chillingo, for example.
