Decode bitrates supported by S60 for eAAC+

    Hi,

Could you give me the list of decode bitrates supported by eAAC+ in s60 phones?
Also could you point me to some Nokia documentation that would help me validate this to my boss.

    Thanks and regards,
    Abhik

don't really know if there is any definitive docs for that, anyway you could try checki ng each individual device separately, here's a page for N97: http://www.maps.nokia.com/find-produ...specifications

It says generally that "Bit rate up to 320 kbps".. Anyway, you could also try searching in the end user discussion board: http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/

Re: Decode bitrates supported by S60 for eAAC+

I am not too sure about the bitrates, but I have tested bitrates from 16 kpbs to 128 kbps on 3rd edition devices...
I have also tested 16kpbs on 2nd edition devices and it works fine.

see this chart, though it doesn't talk abt bitrates, still might be useful:
    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.php/Codecs

What are you looking at, higher or lower bitrates ?

Re: Decode bitrates supported by S60 for eAAC+

    Hi,

I am actually looking for a range of bitrates say minimum-maximum which would be supported in S60 5.0 devices. BTW what is it dependent on, the specific device or manufacturer or would the entire range as per the specification be supported on Symbian. Also do you guys know where i could get the specification. I can see an ISO document but you have to buy it. Is there any place where i can get it for free?(I'll understand if I get a sarcastic reply to this last question.)

    Thanks and regards,
    Abhik

well I am not really aware of the documents availability.

from my testing I could help you with minimum bitrates:

I tried a bitrate of 12 kpbs on 2nd edition and any device with 2nd FP1 sdk or lesser gave problems, but 2nd FP2 ran pretty well.
But from 3rd edition I have tried it on devices based on all types of SDKs and have not seen any problems...
5th edition, I have tried 16 kbps with no problem, but didn't try 12 kbps, though I assume it will work.

    hope this helps !
