    Angry Packaging

    Good people,

    1. SWF2NFL produces a NFL package which freezes on all the s40 devices I have tested it on

    2. SWFPack and the online packaging tool by Nokia result in a file which doesn't even display the correct icon; upon selecting it, a 'file corrupt' error is displayed

    3. The same bugs plague packaging for s60 devices. The resulting SIS file installs but when the user tries to open it, the same 'file corrupt' error is displayed.

None of the packaging tools seem to work! Anyone know what the problem could be? With humility I will concede that I may be doing something wrong.

    Regards

    Hi Seth,

It does sound like you are doing something wrong. It's probably a badly named file, incorrect Flash SWF version or Application Name.

Why not try the Adobe Mobile Packager and see if that fails too:

The most common reason of getting "File Corrupt" error is that u r running a Flash File developed under newer Flash Lite Version in an older Flash Lite Version Compatible Player (For example, running Flash lite 3.0 swf file in a Flash Lite 2.0 player) .I think the same is the case with u. You can give it a quick test , by making a swf file of ur own exported under flash lite 1.1 & then passing it through swfpack. If it works fine then it proves that problem is not with the packaging tool. BTW, if u r having a 3rd edition phone , u can upgrade it to FL 3.1 player(Not all 3rd edition phone supported)

Second point, is to remember that ur application name doesnt have spaces when u r passing it through swfpack. & ALSO take a look on points given by respected Mark . Hope it helps u...

BTW, it is always good to tell us the phone model(s) on which u r testing the Flash Files . It helps us to derive more accurate solutions .

Well in the case of an incorrect version it should report "Flash X not supported", not "File Corrupt". Although I don't have a FL1.1 device here so cannot confirm.

We'll need to know the device.

Well! I just did a test in my e50 with built in FL 1.1 player right now and when i try to open ANY FL 3.0 file in built-in Flash Lite 1.1, It says "Unable to open.File corrupted." and it runs quite fine on Flash Lite 3.0 Developer Edition in the same device. & when i test Flash Lite 3.0 file in Flash Lite 2.1 Developer Edition then it says "Erorr With Content: 3".So, may be this is the case .
