    Code completion

    Hi!

I just installed Carbide.c++ on a new computer and I can't get the code completion working. Symbian C++ data types also don't seem to be recognized by the IDE. Does anyone know what might be wrong? Tried reinstalling the SDK, and checked for plugins that might be missing.

Not working means? what problem you are facing? Which SDK you installed and what about perl and java?

    Re: Code completion

    Hi!

I'm not sure if it matters, but I have the Symbian 3rd edition FP2 1.1 installed, together with Java 6, Perl 5.10 and Carbide.c++ 2.0.2.

I had this working on another machine, but I didn't set it up myself. My problem is that when I bring out the autocompletion list for example on an instance variable it contains no options, and the class names aren't recognized, they are all grey when I write them, on the other machine they were purplish.

Perl must be installed before using the SDK to build applications.
    - Java Runtime version 1.5.0_06 is required.
    - Casira hardware is required for Bluetooth connectivity emulation.
First use the recommended version of perl. Are you facing any problem in compiling project Or just auto completion is not working ?

Although savaj has a good advise regarding perl version, it might save you other pitfalls but not this one.

One possibility of autocomplete not working could be that indexing was not done or is incomplete.

Faster way would have been to check the properties/preferences->indexer and see if you are actually using the indexer.
