MWS Highlighted at Upcoming Carnival of the Mobilists

    Greetings all;
Just wanted to pass the note that I'll be hosting the Carnival of the Mobilits - a "travelling" weekly posting of various blog reflections and information from people in the mobile industry - during the week of July 13th.

One of the neat things about this is that I'll be hosting the CotM via my personal website, which is being hosted via Nokia's Mobile Web server (currently on an N95 and E71x).

This will mean a lot of visibility for the MWS project; and even moreso could mean something of an opportunity to have something you've developed concerning the MWS added to this posting.

Now, I'm quite certain that the MWS will fail at various times throughout the day because its just not built for such a large influx of folks hitting it - and I'll figure out something to account for that. But this is still a good opportunity.

So do mark your calendars - and if you would like to fix some issues relating to server load on a mobile device, can you do that really fast so that I can get that update and keep a positive piece of momentum towards this

By the way, I'll be releasing a totally new skin for the MWS that day as well. So do tune in for that download as well as I know some of you have been looking for me to release this for sometime.

    Hi ,
Thanks for such a great initiative, looking forward and like to just remind you on this documentation and example how people could integrate their own stuff to MWS http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...m_applications and it's reference application http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...e_applications

Good luck for your experiment !

Sorry for the late notice all, but here's the link to the 182nd Carnival of the Mobilists which is being hosted on my MWS-driven website:

Just a headsup, I've only been knocked offline one time. I'm not sure how it happened though. My mobile is connected via Psiloc Connect and does Wi-Fi/GSM handoffs pretty often. I've also got a few other programs tapping my device's wireless connection through the same access point.

After a device restart things are back and rolling. This is some heavy duty software, and personally, I think this shows that it can be pretty well used for several kinds of applications.

Re: MWS Highlighted at Upcoming Carnival of the Mobilists

Many thanks to all who've visited this week. Attached is a small present: the Grassy Web Theme v0.1 used on my site.

There are a *ton* of things yet to be done with this theme, and its not quite ready for primetime, though I do want to make sure that its available for those who've been looking for a new theme.

To use this theme, save the linked CSS file to you (device)>Data>WebServer>htdocs>Framework>Themes folder

The background image calls in the CSS assume that you have an images folder within the htdocs directory. Feel free to change it as you see fit.

The welcome page's CSS is modeled off of the boxes that I use on my site. You can ignore that code if you choose.

As I get time over the coming weeks, I'll continue to extend this theme out, and we'd have a truly made from scratch MWS theme

Just a headsup that I'm again hosting the Carnival of the Mobilists:

I've also done some updates to the Grassy Web theme being used. I've got a guide on my site as to how I put it together (which goes along with the existing wiki entry here on custom MWS themes). For more specific questions about custom theming the MWS, ask in a seperate thread here.
