Unhappy Pegoda 701 reader used with 6131 and 6212 Emulator

I want to use the Pegoda 701 reader as external reader when debugging my Midlet application on the Nokia 6131 NFC emulator. But I am having problems getting the two to "talk" together. I have installed the MifareWnd from NXP (as suggested on this forum) and this works fine with the reader. But the 6131 emulator doesn't seam to recognize the reader. I have also tried the 6212 emulator with the NFC manager, same thing with that one.

Any help/hints would be much appreciated!

Question Re: Pegoda 701 reader used with 6131 and 6212 Emulator

    Added comment:
When I start the emulator (6212) from my Java IDE (NetBeans 6.5) I get the following message in the debug pan:
    .
    .
    Smart card communication error 0x80100017
The specified reader is not currently available for use
    .
    .

I don't know if it has relevance to my problem but it could be interesting to know where and what reader you can specify?

Re: Pegoda 701 reader used with 6131 and 6212 Emulator

    Hi
I am using 6212 emulator with NFC manager and I had the same problem until I found from help file that you have to do following thing:
    1. Right click on My computer an select 'Properties'
    2. Select the tab 'Advanced' -> 'Environment Variables'
    3. In 'System Variables' list there is variable 'Path'
    4. You have edit it to add there the path you have installed MifareWND. SDK needs these DLLs:
    CommonLib.DLL
    HostRdComm.DLL
    MfRc500.DLL
    Rd700.DLL
    Usbdll.DLL
These should be at the folder MifareWND has been installed

I'm not sure if this is the same case with 6131, but I hope this helps.

Thumbs up Re: Pegoda 701 reader used with 6131 and 6212 Emulator

    Sunil:
Thanks for the answer, I have seen the posts on the forum you mentioned and they don't relate to my problem unfortunately.

    RedLineRL:
Your suggestion did the trick (for 6212 at least)!! Maybe the 6131 emulator needs to "point" to the right dll's in another way? I will check that later, now at least I have an idea on what the problem is, thanks! In which "help file" did you read this?

When you have the Emulator opened, select 'Help' -> 'SDK Help' and type "Pegoda" to search field and you'll get "Installing the Pegoda reader" as one of the results.

    Thanks!
Good to hear that at least someone uses the 'Help' menu. ;o)
