    Open a port on mobile

    Hi everybody,

    I need to open a port on my N95 8Gb and I don't find how to do.
    My N95 is connected with my PC with an ad hoc wifi connection. All ports are closed, I see that with nmap.
    Do you have any idea ? Thanks.
    Regards and Peace.

    so how do you know the address to send these messages ?, I assume that you should make something also in the device side that would listen for the messages, so which technology are you planning to use for implementing it ?

    Re: Open a port on mobile

    In the device, I use RSocket, something like this :

    //Bind
    iAddress.SetAddress(INET_ADDR(127,0,0,1));
    iAddress.SetPort(KServerPort);
    User::LeaveIfError(iSocket.Bind(iAddress));

    And the part of code of receiving data :
    iSocket.RecvFrom(iBuffer,iRemoteAddress,0,iStatus);
    SetActive();

    I precise that it works on simulator, with local address.

    I know the address to send because I put manually the address in the two side : (in N95, I put it directly in the setting of the connection)

    Code:
    PC :
    ip : 192.168.0.1
    default gateway : 192.168.0.2
    mask : 255.255.255.0

    N95 :
    ip : 192.168.0.2
    default gateway : 192.168.0.1
    mask : 255.255.255.0
    I can see with wireshark, that an UDP message is send from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.2:9876, and just after 192.168.0.2 send a ICMP message :
    Code:
    Destination unreachable (Port unreachable)
    so it lets me think that I must open the 9876 port.
    Regards and Peace.

    Re: Open a port on mobile

    Do you think that I have to resolve it with hacking my N95 or with RSocket ?
    Or do you think I can receive this ICMP message if there is no UDP server running ?

    Re: Open a port on mobile

    My problem is solved, I just replaced the binding on 127.0.0.1 by 192.168.0.2
    Thanks for your help.
