    Question Hardware encoder n95

    Hi,

I can remember seeing an API for Symbian v3 where it is possible to have direct access to the mpeg stream coming from the camera.
I have searched for it, but can not find it anymore.

Is it possible to have access to the raw (mpeg encoded) data coming form the camera?

    Thanks

    R

"Raw" and "MPEG" mutually exclude each other. CCamera can produce raw, YUV stream for you. For encoding the stream check http://www.movino.org for example.

ok... so no way to use the hardware encoder?

too bad, since encoding mpeg in realtime in software, would require an encoder license (costly typical) and lots of processor power.

The built-in encoder (regardless of being hardware or software) can be used actually, but I do not remember if there would be a public API for that.
