I noticed that in the list of FN training centres there are little or none in Africa.
My name is David.,i'm an (aspiring) python and java programmer.
My world and environment inspires me with ideas. In the mist of all the problems in my country - Nigeria - i see solutions that can be built, harnessed, and brought to life , and funnily enough all via the Symbian OS platform.
I believe that through S60, i can imagine, build and design the platforms and applications that will address and resolve many of the problems in Nigeria.
Mobile Devices are more than just phones, and should be seen beyond this. They can be companions, tools and catalysts of colossal change, in the Nigerian community. And I believe their positive potential in a country like Nigeria can be of limitless use and benefit to people here.
-- That is, if people here were interested in mobile development.
I'm aware of a programme, encouraging mobile development,
works in Nigeria - its part of the EPROM initiative. But its only available in the Lagos State University - for Computer Science students. And the 'products' of the programme aren't even visible to the Nigerian community.
I would really like to attend all these events, trainings, conferences, activities, and programmes that Forum Nokia and Symbian organize - but i obviously can't travel across the world to do that.
My question is:
What are the criteria for establishing an FN training centre, in countries. ?
And is it possible to establish one in Nigeria. ? e.g. If i get into a discussion with Nokia Nigeria and their associates.
There's alot of potential in the country with/and people brimming full of creative ideas - i don't want Nokia wasting all that away ,since they (Nokia Nigeria) are predominantly into phone sales, marketing and advertisement - and don't seem to be putting much effort into the future of mobile devices, besides sales.
Thanks for a response in advance.
