Each time I open a cpp file, an error occurs, why?

This is a strange problem. As I click to open a cpp file in the folder src, an error occurs, which notifies a java.lang.NullPointerException. But this problem doesn't occur when I try to open a head file or other files in the project.
I've checked the error log. It gives such information as follows.

    !ENTRY org.eclipse.ui.workbench 4 2 2009-07-06 09:22:40.114
!MESSAGE Problems occurred when invoking code from plug-in: "org.eclipse.ui.workbench".

    Thank you for your help.
I've tried to reinstall JRE 1.6. It doesn't work, however.
But I've discovered that this problem only occur when I open an old project, if I build a new project, carbide works fine. So I think this can be probably explained as a compatibility problem.

In that case i suggest you re-import your project to a new workspace.
