    Missing arrow

    Hello

I'm the developer of PhoNetInfo (www.patrickfrei.ch/phonetinfo/). Recently, I received a strange bug report from a user that owns a Nokia 5800 (5th edition). He reports that he cannot see the right navigation arrow that would allow him to navigate through the item tabs (see this picture: phonetinfo.gif). Additionally he reports that if he rotates his mobile phone to the right the navigation arrow appears... I cannot reproduce that issue on the 5th edition emulator and cannot test it on a real device as I don't have one...

Now, I'd like to ask you if...
    a) you can reproduce that issue?
    b) that is a firmware feature or a bug?
    c) the arrow can be displayed just when the user starts the application?

    Thank you for your help!
    Patrick

    Re: Missing arrow

That's a great service! I could reproduce the problem on such a real Nokia 5800.

The right small arrow at the top of the screen is really missing after starting-up the application  After hitting the right arrow key on the "virtual keyboard" I can switch to the second tab of the application and voilà, the right arrow appears!

Can someone imagine what the problem could be?

    Hi Patrick,

    Great program!

Initially I thought it was theme related but I can also reproduce it on the N97 with the latest firmware.

If I rotate the screen then this "refreshes" the screen and fixes the issue.

Thank you for your compliments :) Then does it seem that the problem cannot be solved programatically by the developer? Does it have to be fixed in the firmware?

My feeling is try with different types of tabs or try seeing what happens when you handle a screen rotate event.

Or try the same type of tabs but with no other app specific features. If you can make a helloworld application shows the same problem send it attached to the bug report.

    Re: Missing arrow

    I could solve the problem by adding iNaviPane->PushL(*iDecoratedTabGroup);
Strange that it was working without it for 3rd but not for 5th edition devices...
