Angry Our content has been STOLEN from Ovi Store Client.

Our game has been STOLEN from Ovi Store client. It's Item #8447, BlockGO. People can easily find the pirate copy from 4 to 6 sites in Google search. We wont point pirate sites here. Most important, Now our content is removed in Ovi Store without any notification to developers. People can play our free/lite version. Someone in forum will point people to get the pirate copy and say it a free license.
The below is our quote for a review from Ovi Store user. Because our content page is gone, we can NOT point you the real page. Support from Ovi Store only said they have high priority for this issue. We feed so angry about the whole process of Ovi Store. We have made a lite version to prompt our game. What result do we get? Anyone from Ovi Store can tell us?

By the way, we got like 30% of reviews complaining about "install
    failed" and "download failed".

Thumbs down Re: Our content has been STOLEN from Ovi Store Client.

Our contents are still missing in Ovi Store. The whole story happened to us is:

    1. worked hard to product contents - 2 months time with many people work.
    2. paid a lot to SymbianSigned for paid and free items - more than 600 Euros.
    3. submitted to Ovi Store and got QA passed.
    4. waiting for being listed in Ovi Store - 15 days.
    5. Contents listed and got no visibility for any purchase time and download time.
    6. Pirate copy are downloadable from MANY sites just after TEN days listed in Ovi Store.
    7. Our contents were gone in the Ovi Store after 2 weeks listing.
    8. Contents are missing the Ovi Store till now.
    9. Anything Nokia people mailed to me is NOT happened as they promised. No reason, NO recovery plan!

In other words, our contents are only able to purchase in the Ovi Store for about 2 or more weeks. Then, our contents are stolen from some nice Ovi users. Then, our contents were not listed in the Ovi Store anymore.

I will say I am either stupid or super stupid to give it a try with Nokia Ovi Store. The whole thing is so sick.

    /eric

I did respond and this has been escalated beyond support beyond the Ovi store and into senior management. There is already a thread about DRM and most of the responses have been there. There is nothing anyone can say because this has been escalated.

Re: Our content has been STOLEN from Ovi Store Client.

Do we really need download part(browser part) of ovi store ?
Part of ovi store that you can open in your mobile browser and simply download application.
Major(99%) part of users download apps on new phones with ovi store application.
download part for browser is useless and it's best friend for illegal distribution.

Can you simple disable this part?

    Hi,
I think we need this on device download for the device browser to allow purchasing hotlinks to work!

Think: click X to buy full version!

This is the last ejohn's post (afaik) about DRM and the lack of security in OviStore:
    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...l=1#post605538
ejohn: "Over the coming weeks the Ovi Store team will be driving towards an option that should help developers protect their content better, without overly impacting or impeding the consumption flow. The specifics on the solution are still being formulated. You can be sure we will get back to you with more specifics and we'll continue to reach out to folks on this list since it's you--the people making a living selling apps day to day—-that we need to work with towards a solution."

Yes, roughly 16 months ago (June, 2009); so, "Over the coming weeks" is now about 70 weeks and counting. ;-)

    No, No, No!

You need to be able to put the users to the Ovi page of a product. How do you want to do this? You cannot fire up the WRT Nokia client to a specific page vbia launch code...
