    Camerawrapper: how to get the full resolution of camera?

    Hi,

    I wonder if camerawrapper has some kind of restrictions. Namely I have 6220 Classic which has 5 MP camera (2592x1944 pixels). However using camerawrapper library, the highest resolution I can get is 1600x1200 as reported by CCameraWrapper::PrepareL(). When enumerating available sizes (for different formats, like FbsBitmap16M etc.) the biggest size listed is only 1280x960 pixels.

    Is it possible to use the full resolution with camerawrapper and if so, are there some kind of special steps required?

    Thank you.

    Supported resolutions also depend on the image format you have selected. Highest resolutions are available for capturing into compressed JPEG/EXIF format only, because a true color 5-megapixel CFbsBitmap would require 15 megabytes of memory if no padding is used, or 20 megabytes if there is a padding byte too.

    Thanks for the hint. With the camera application, 2592x1944 picture saved in JPEG-format takes only 644 kB, which is clearly much less than 15 MB. But still in my own program with FormatExif I only get this 1600x1200, which is quite far from the camera maximum. FormatJpeg doesn't seem to be supported (returned max resolution 0x0).

    Markus, try setting the UI orientation to landscape before starting to use the camera.

    Unbelievable, but it worked! Thank you a ton!

    However, for me it seems very weird that you have to rotate screen in order to utilize the full resolution (it's not intuitive at all).

    Dear Markus,
    Can you tell me, how did you change the orientation of screen. I followed the following link to change the orientation, but it was not setting the orientation to Landscape.
    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...UI_application

    Actually I am trying to capture 1600 * 1200 images using Camerawrapper.

    I tried iCameraWrapper->PrepareL(iCaptureSize) , setting the iCaptureSize to 1600 * 1200. Even after this also, I was getting the images 1280 * 960.

    Can you please let me know how I can set the resolution. I am trying this on N73.

    Thanks,
    Sreelakshmi.
