    Hangman for 3650

    Hi all experts,

I'm wanting to create a simple hangman game for the Nokia 3650 for a Thesis due in September.

Can you tell me what emulator and/or development kit I need to download from Nokia or Java in order to get started.

My first task is to write HelloWorld! on a Nokia Emulator for the 3650!!!

I'm fairly new to Java programming so I want to keep it as simple as possible for now and then hopefully build up to maybe some sounds and a bit of animation.

I want look into the possibility of using bluetooth for a 2-player game eventually too.

Any help/advice/warnings/sympathy/luck would be all gratefully received!!

    Much appreciated

    Natalie.

    Natalie,

    you need these:

    - Borland JBuilder or Sun ONE Studio (optional)
    - tNokia Developer's Suite 1.1 (downloadable from Forum Nokia web site)
    - Nokia Series 60 MIDP Concept SDK beta 0.2 (downloadable as well)

Our web site has also lots of documentation and getting started type material available so by doing this you are already at good start.

    Kind regards,
    Tinke / FN

    One question...

Will the Hangman game I develop be a MIDLet? Sounds a silly question I know, but humour me please!

Also will I be able to download an emulator that will help me view what I create in the MIDLet?

    Thanks for your patience.

    yes

In answer to both your questions: yes.
You're app will be a MIDlet.
And when you download the SDK it comes with an emulator.

    One more question...

DO I have to download the SDK for J2ME also from java? Or is this all contained in what I would get from the Nokia downloads?

Can you get these downloads on CD-ROM rather than downloading over the internet?

    Thanks peeps!
