    Open Carbide.c++'s help and look for "CodeScanner User Guide" (or search for CodeScanner). Under CodeScanner Preferences you will find aq long description of "Enable knowledge base Scanning", as for 1) you will have to read the "Customizing CodeScanner Rules" section.

    hi ltomuta,
    i already read help..but problem is this codescanner 2.1.1 added new feature to add user defined rules.this we can do in configuration file like this

    <codescannerConfig>
    <customrules>
    <customrule>
    <name>myOwnRule</name>
    <keyword type=”class”>CMyOwnClass</keyword>
    <filetype>h</filetype>
    <severity>low</severity>
    <title>My CodeScanner rule targeting CMyOwnClass</title>
    <description>Locate definition of CMyOwnClass</description>
    </customrule>
    </customrules>
    </codescannerConfig>

    but where to add this code(which file).actually where codescanner config file exist.

    In CodeScanner's preferences dialog you have buttons for exporting and importing settings. If you export the settings you'll see that the output is the XML file described in that page. My suggestion is to add your custom rule to it and then import it back into Carbide.
