    Windows 7 - running emulator

    Hello
I've got a problem with emulating program with carbide.
When I press "run", I have to wait for about minute and when emulator opens the window (of emulator) only blinks and does not respond.

Does anyone have similar problem? If you need additional data please ask.

    Thanks for help.

I am having the same issue. The emulator opens after 1 or two minutes and keeps on flickering. The post referred below does not discuss anything about the issue.

    Any suggestions?

If you mean that the title bar of the window is blinking, and it says something about that the emulator is loading, it means that the emulator is loading. Launching the emulator for the very first time can take really long.

Re: Windows 7 - running emulator

Thanks wizard_hu_ for your response, the emulator was launched without any issue when I first launched the application using the Run option. I don't know what happened, but now when emulator opens it keeps on flickering with title S60 Emulator is loading. Please wait.. after wait of around 3-5 minutes, it shows the following error "Application closed: !WidgetRegistry Alloc: 36592aa40"

I have checked the following thread http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=164794 and it says that the exec WidgetRegistry.exe can be deleted/renamed if we don't want to execute it. After renaming that executable I am still seeing the same behavior.

I am not sure what I have done... but this Emulator is not going to let me test my beginner sample projects

Can you please suggest any solution for the issue?

Re: Windows 7 - running emulator

After you renamed/removed the executable, it can not really die in the same way. Are you still getting an ALLOC error message referring to WidgetRegistry?
In fact failing components should not matter, you can simply click Ok, and that is all.
The emulator has a logfile, you can check what is happening inside: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.php/Epocwind.out
