    Starting session with messaging server

    Hi

    I've just started looking into trying to receive an SMS programmatically.

    I have a class called CSmsClient that inherits MMsvSessionObserver

    from SmsClient.h
    Code:
    void HandleSessionEventL(TMsvSessionEvent aEvent, TAny* aArg1, TAny* aArg2, TAny* aArg3);
    from SmsClient.cpp
    Code:
    #include <msvapi.h>

    ...

    void CSmsClient::ConstructL()
    	{
    	// SMS automatic receiving needs a session to the messaging server
    	iMsvSession = CMsvSession::OpenAsyncL(*this);
    	}

    //listening for incoming message
    void CSmsClient::HandleSessionEventL(TMsvSessionEvent aEvent, TAny* aArg1, TAny* aArg2, TAny* aArg3)
        {
        ...
        }
    When I compile for phone release or debug in Carbide i get undefined reference to 'CMsvSession::OpenAsyncL(MMsvSessionObserver&)', but when I compile for the emulator it doesn't complain. What could cause this?

    Re: Starting session with messaging server

    Now it seems that I can't access the fields neither within TNameEntry nor TSockAddr either! Could this be related? Why doesnt carbide/gcc find the members even though it finds the classes themselves???
