Question Capturing left soft key on the home screen (standby) of E71

    Hey guys,
i need ur help on very urgent basis. i am able to capture all softkeys on the home screen except for Left Soft key, only on devices like E63,E71 with QWERTY keyboard. I am able to capture Left soft key inside any application except on standby home screen. i am using scan code 164 for the same.
Can anyone put some light on this. Is there any virtual mapping on E71 which i am not aware of??? i have also cross checked by capturing scan codes from 0 to 255 in loop to view the scan code of left soft key but still no success.

    Hi,
I would suggest you to debug and check what is the iScanCode value passed, when you press Left SoftKey.Then map the correct one.
    TKeyCode is EKeyDevice0
    TStdScanCode is EStdKeyDevice0

Also sometimes increasing the capturing priority might help..

This solution works fine (left softkey can be captured on standby screen [tested on E71]) - http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph..._Animation_dll

Re: Capturing left soft key on the home screen (standby) of E71

    Hi guys,
i have already done all these things.
I have debugged my application on E61 where it works fine but in E71 it fails to capture any scan code of left soft key. This happens only on the home screen but works fine on other applications window in E71.

Has anyone worked on home screen key events on E71?

I don't think there is any really, I suppose it is TInt, so you can try upto the max TInt value.

    Code:
    CaptureKeyUpAndDowns(TUint aScanCode, TUint aModifierMask, TUint aModifier, TInt aPriority);

    Description

Requests the capture of key-up and key-down events on behalf of a window group. This function is identical to the other overload, except that it allows a priority to be specified. This function always causes a flush of the window server buffer.

    Parameters
    ---
    TUint aScanCode
Scan code for the key to be captured. Scan codes are defined in TStdScanCode.

    TUint aModifierMask
Bitmask that identifies the modifier keys of interest. Possible values are defined in TEventModifier.

    TUint aModifier
Bitmask that identifies which of the modifier keys in aModifierMask need to be set and which need to be unset.

    TInt aPriority
A priority value - if more than one window group has requested capture for the same key event, the one with the highest priority will capture it.
