Question Flash Lite stub application not able to launch content

    Hi everyone,

I am a relative newbie to Symbian, and am facing a problem with launching Flash Lite SWF files on my S60 3rd Edition FP2 handset (Nokia N79).

    Here is the problem:

    (1) I created a C++ stub application, as described in the Flash Lite Developers' Library. My C++ application launches and exits normally, but the Flash content is never played. (I confirmed that the application exits normally by using the "Crash Monitor" in the excellent Y-Tasks suite.)

    (2) I downloaded the sample stub application here. Again the same result: the application launches and exits normally, but the Flash content is never displayed.

What could I be doing wrong? I have followed the instructions in the SDK as closely as possible, and as far as I can tell, I am doing everything right.

Could this be a problem with the phone's configuration?

I have tried multiple SWF files. If I copy them directly to the phone and launch them through the File Browser, they do play correctly. However, I couldn't get any of them to play programmatically.

Any help you could provide will be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Rohit

P.S.: I also tried a Flash "launcher" app as described here, and it worked. However, I would prefer getting a stub application to work.

Re: Flash Lite stub application not able to launch content

    Hello Rohit,
interesting problem, there are likely problem in the EXE, capabilities or such.
I'd be interested if app generated with KuneriLite or SwfPack work without problem?
They both use stub in launching (www.kunerilite.net, www.swfpack.com)

    Hi,
What's wrong with the flash launcher ? i am using it, and it's very useful. not sure what else would bring this framework. Note also that you can always put your swf in the private dir by yourself.

    Jacques.
