    MDFDevVideo, encoder fail

    Hi everybody,

I am working with S60 5th on a Samsung Player HD and I am developping (for my studies) a program that record the screen display (and stream it).

So I use te MDFDevVideo API and I start 3 months ago with this example :
    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...deo_Record_API

I have listed all supported encoders with the GetEncoderistLfunction, and for each of them, and I used the VideoEncoderInfoLC and MaxPictureRates function to get information about them, like the maximum picture size/rate combination supported by them.

I found that some encoders (for H263 and mp4 mime type) can support size like 352-288, 480-640, 576-720 etc.
For my project I need 480-640.

The problem is that when I try to use it, the program crashs. The maximum size working is 352-288.
The program crashs when the WritePictureL is called.

So I don't know where I'm wrong, do you if I have to put some specific argument for a higher picture size, or it is the hardware that not support this.. how can I check that ?

    All suggestions can help me.
    Thanks.
    Regards and Peace.

This is definitely something you should check on the Samsung site too (http://innovator.samsungmobile.com) - also consider finding out the error message.

Unfortunately, the adaptation software which you are getting an error from is highly dependent on the device/codec you are using. If you can't get an answer from Samsung then not many other people can help.

The only other thing I could suggest is asking on the Multimedia technology domain forum at the Symbian Foundation:
    http://developer.symbian.org/forum/f...splay.php?f=36

One of the architects for the DevVideo stuff sometimes answers on there.
