[Announce] Pen and Paper, a drawing application for Nokia 5800 and N97

Pen and Paper is a very easy to use drawing application. The UI has nice 3D look and it is very intuitive and natural to use. There are no texts, but big icons and images. Also small children can easily use the application.

The application works in S60 5th edition touch phones, like Nokia 5800 XM and N97.

The application is mostly done in C++, but I have used one Python "plugin", embedded in C++. That component is the Image browser screen that shows thumbnails of the saved images. I have used Python 1.9.1 version of the pre-release for S60 5th edition. I will upgrade it when official 2.0 comes available.

You can purchase the application via PayPal or a credit card. The price is very low, only 99 cents!

    Look at my homepage: http://koti.mbnet.fi/~haviital/index.shtml?projects_pap
There are screenshots and video about the application!

PyS60 used for a COMMERCIAL project? Love that

One question: do you require user to install python runtime separately or do you have it inside the application SIS file? What if user already has installed that (or other python runtime)?

    Cheers,

nice app and a well drawn apple! ironic the title of the page is "OPEN SOURCE software" LOL.. with the advent of PyS60 v2, perhaps this is the start of this platform commercialising

I guess I will return those 99 cents in that case ;-) Seriously, I am providing one combined installation package AND separate packages for Application, SDL and Python interpreter.
The case where somebody has another Python runtime is not solved. After Python 2.0 has been relesed I think it will be marginal case. I would be nice to have some solution thought.

Hannu - your drawing application looks really fun - I had a peak at the video. And the screenshots are cool - great icons!

Are you planning to make this app available in Ovi Store? Just curious ... I hope so.

    Best wishes - jason
