Exclamation Porting Flash games to Flash Lite (for Ovi store)

Hello everyone, apologies if this question has been answered (could not find topic in search).

My company distributes flash games online (AS3 - Flash 9+). We would like to use Symbian's Flash lite api to port our games onto the device for the OVI store.
Can Flash light support advanced flash games like: http://armorgames.com/play/2900/sonny-2 on Symbian 60/80 devices?

    Thanks in advance.

    Few answers and suggestions:
    - The latest version of Flash Lite 3.1 supports Flash 9 (AS 2.0) .It means u have to back port ur games to AS 2.0 from AS 3.0.
    - As u know that Flash Lite is for mobile phones .They offer less memory & slow speed as compared to Pc games .So , u cant create high graphical games like the one u mentioned AS IT IS. You MUST have to optimize ur Pc games and learn many optimization tips before porting.
    - We have a large number of S60 phones having Flash Lite 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0 .Among which Flash Lite 1.1 and 2.0 pre-installed phones provides quite less heap memory for such games (the one u mentioned) But m statisfied with Flash Lite 3.0 pre-installed phones .
So, overall answer is YES/NO :P. Actually, it depends on the way u optimize and port it.

    Best Regards,

    Thanks Sajisoft!

So our non-action games (match 3 and card games) should port fine. However, our heavy action games (fighting\platforming) would have issues?

Even ur card games can have issues of screen resolution (e.g may not run in full screen) . As i said, your action and non action games can run on Flash Lite but needs to be ported back and optimized .

Btw, yes ! u need less effort and logic to port card games as compared to action games.

Single screen games (card/puzzle) will be easier to port to mobiles as compared to action games (platform/fighting). This is not so much because of the scripting language restriction, but more of device memory and processing power limitation.

However I would not like to rule out the possibility of having action games completely on phones with Flash. I have seen a couple of them working great, but such games do not always exploit the full use of Flash as seen on the web.

If you are migrating from Flash on the web to Flash on mobiles, you can start with reading the articles mentioned above. I'll list some of them too -
