    Question App. development for a subset of S60 3rd edition devices

    Hi All,
    We've developed an app for S60 3rd edition, we want to release it commercially for specific 3rd edition devices. Is it possible to do so, as we need to pass test criteria of symbian signed before releasing it?

    Thanks in advance
    Sumit

    Sure it is, you can restrict the installation to specific device in your pkg file, thus test houses can also then see it easily that it is means for specific phone, then of course you should mark that as a target device when submitting the app.

    Re: App. development for a subset of S60 3rd edition devices

    Hi,
    I did'nt mentioned product ID of N73 in my .pkg file and also removed Series60ProductID line, and then I installed it on N73. App got installed on the device(N73) with the warning "Application Not compatible with phone, Continue anyway?". Here is snippet of my .pkg file:
    Code:
    ;Supports Series 60 v 3.0
    ;[0x101F7961], 0, 0, 0, {"Series60ProductID"}

    ; Product dependencies
    ;[0x200005FB],0,0,0,{"Nokia N73 ID"}
    [0x20000600],0,0,0,{"Nokia N93 ID"}
    [0x20000605],0,0,0,{"Nokia N93i ID"}
    [0x2000060B],0,0,0,{"Nokia N95 ID"}
    Is it the required behaviour?

    Thanks
    Sumit

    Thanks skumar,
    It means I dont need to do anything else, and my app will pass Symbian signing Scalable UI related test cases for the devices mentioned in the .pkg file?

    Regards
    Sumit

    from the pkg we can see that you want to remove Nokia N73 from your supported device list. If that is the case then yes you will pass for other devices,
