XMLSocket : "Internet: Server not found"

I’m Tobias, IT student in VietNam. At this time, I’m senior of Technology and Education University, HCM city. I have a research in developing Game online by Flash Lite but I meet some difficulties. As you knew, Flash Lite is rather new, specialy in VietNam, too difficult to find a Flash Lite Professional. Flash Lite documents are not much.

I use Nokia 5320 Xpress Music, support Flash Lite 3.0, Symbian S60 OS. I meet problem of connecting Flash Lite to C# server by XMLSocket (GPRS). I tested my app in Adobe Device Central and it ran very well but when I apply in real device, I always meet notice “Internet: Server not found”. I tried put crossdomain.xml in Server but it is still hopeless.

I am waiting your reply eagerly. Contact to me by email Tobias.spkt@gmail.com.

    Thank you very much.

Please, use normal fonts next time . If it is working fine in ur adobe device central and not in real device then it can be a Security Sandbox issue. Try the following things :
1- Place ur swf file in C:\data\others\trusted and test it.
2- Export ur swf under Access Network Settings .
    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards,

You can easily acess it by browsing to it via default file browser BUT u dont have a trusted folder by default. So, just browse to c:\data\others (c stands for phone memory) and create a new Dir named as "Trusted", now place ur swf file in trusted folder and launch it.

Then try e:\others\trusted (e stands for mmc)

"Internet: Server not found" is usually occurs when the flash lite app wont get any server on the provided ip and port .However, before checking u server side , u can try latest player i.e Flash Lite 3.1 (Nokia 5320 is supported) . Download the sis package from the end of this page :
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/dist...bleplayer.html
    May it solves ur issue.

On a quick note, also check the proxy settings in the phone. Its an option in the web browser of the phone. Since ur app works on Device Central, its a matter of the interface.
Does it prompt you for Permission to Connect to Network ?
try to connect to some random page as well.
This would help you analyse your network infrastructure .

One more thing. Can your server by pinged from your phone ? Is it on the public network ?

    Ciao,

also note that the XMLSocket API works only above a certain port number.
