    Mp3 stream query

    Hello,
i have been trying to write a player for s60 3rd ed FP2 that streams mp3 over http. The approach i have as of now is
    • make several players and put them in a queue and then pop and play

But the problem with this method is there are cracks in the playback.
Can anyone suggest any other approach.

    Thanks
    Abhi

    Re: Mp3 stream query

Use some streaming RTSP server and then directly play the RTSP stream in J2me.

    thanks,

    Re: Mp3 stream query

be sure you have a good 3g or 3.5g connection for this to work out...
personally, the rtsp of the Player is actually pretty bad... On a good S60 you might get away with it, but's its laughable at the S40's who dont have WCDMA capabilities

    Re: Mp3 stream query

Well i tried querying the n96 with Manager.getSupportedContentTypes("rtsp"); and mp3 is not one of the results.

I also tried querying Manager.getSupportedProtocols("audio/mpeg"); and all i got was http, https, file

Have any of you tried rtsp mp3 streaming?

n95 works so I actually guess the N96 should work as well, you could just try and see what happens ?

    player = Manager.createPlayer(url);

    with a rtsp:// url
