    Default character encoding with POST method

    Is it possible to define the encoding method for a post to be same in both 7110 and 6210? Or is it fixed so that 7110 uses always Latin1 and 6210 utf-8? If you can define the encoding to be used, how is this done?

    RE: Default character encoding with POST method

    No unfortunately. It is not possible to define encoding of data submission. It is going to be possible in wap1.2 compliant browser. go element has a new attribute which is "accept-charset". This can be used for this purpose.

    I can see we are using utf-8 (in 6110 and 7110) and there is a problem when e.g. you are using an ASP script to return data. The hole document encoded by using the iso-8859-1 and ASP add the submitted data directly to the document. this problem can be solved by adding encoding="utf-8" in the document type definition like:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

    It is work with Nokia GW, but I am not tested this with other GW's.
