    Unhappy QT roadmap/direction for S60/Maemo?

    Hi,

I want to know the future / direction for QT SDK.
    1. Could we be able to compile an S60 application directly from QT SDK (or KDevelop) in the future? or we still need some windows partition to install carbide to create S60 application.
    2. I can't found good information on QT for Maemo. All I know that the past Maemo (OS200x) use GTK+, and for the all new Maemo 5, QT were supported. But that's all the information I could find. I've been searching the web, and it seems that this information is still not in the web.

    Thanks.

    Some information here
    http://qt.nokia.com/developer/qt-4.6-technology-preview

Also there will be a number of Qt presentations in Maemo Summit (also by Nokia people) so in few weks there is likely more information available

Red face Re: QT roadmap/direction for S60/Maemo?

    Hi,

thanks for all of those who answer me, unfortunately, I still think it's not answering my question.

I'm a linux user in desktop, but fall in love with symbian since my nokia 3650, then 6600, then E61i. I'm a web developer, and have a C, C++ programming skill, and I was thinking to develop several apps for Symbian platform.

Currently, I don't have Windows OS computer, and I also know that I need a windows to make symbian apps. But, since Nokia have bought QT trooltech, I was kind of wondering if nokia were planing to make us to be able to make symbian apps in linux (in the future).

for my second question, about the maemo/freemantel, I think it's already answered clearly... I must wait a few more weeks

    thanks in advance

You might want to read this blog: http://lizardo.wordpress.com/
Also search on the qt-s60 mailinglist for a thread with the title: "Compiling Qt for S60 under Linux: almost there"
