    Monitoring Wifi Scan

    Is any event triggered when the user scans for a Wifi using the default scanner on S60 (that appears in standby mode). I need to perform some actions when the user is searching for a WIFI.

    Does Symbian C++ support this?

    Re: Monitoring Wifi Scan

    Thanks for replying,

    shafali gupta: I´ve done some tests with RConnectionMonitor but apparently searching for Wifi doens´t trigger any event, only when a access point is defined that i receive a event.

    mateen_maldar: I will take a look on this API, thanks.

    Re: Monitoring Wifi Scan

    Found some interesting informations regarding RConnectionMonitor, if 'Show WLAN availability' option is enabled every time a WLAN point is found it´s trigger a event EConnMonNewWLANNetworkDetected. It´s not exactly what I was looking for but is pretty close.

    But if WLAN availability option is disabled when manual searches for WLAN are performed no event is triggered for new WLAN points founds (even when a WLAN point is found) and that´s what I was looking for since many users disables 'WLAN availability' option to save battery and preffer to perform manual searches.

    Have anyone found a way to monitor these manual searches and receive asynchronous notifications when this search is performed?

    PS: WLAN Management API has the same behavior as RConnectionMonitor.
