    sms engine deletion of msgs issues

    Hi All,

    I was just playing with sms engine after some years now, and wanted to delete sms in all versions of 3rd edition phones.

    I'm able to delete the sms but wanted to know the technicial reason behind this ..

    Code:
     // Ncnlist seems to panic if there is no time to play arrived
                            // message tone before deletion.
                            //Codescanner gives a critical
                            User::After(KDelayTime);

                            iMsvSession->RemoveEntry(iNewMessageId);
    Why the Ncnlist is blocking the Msgbase component to perform its operations..
    Coz any application is never related to check for Ncnlist operations as its running in background..
    Any comments on this from Forum Nokia or experts..

    Regards,
    Mateen Maldar

    It is not really about blocking, just ncnlist is not prepared for handling messages which disappear immediately. Remember that the new message alarm is triggered by TMsvEntry::New, thus ncnlist tries to clear the flag and write it back if the alarm was raised successfully - which takes some time.

    Hi Wizard,
    I can partially agree on this..
    This is what is happening inside the phone
    Public ECom notifies towards NcnList which allows notification to NcnList about new message(s).

    As NcnList probably checks if the events meant for it, takes the some of amount delay till it relinquishes the process.
