I´ve figured out the issue. Now it is working fine when I used the commands in this way without going to the scratchbox/login.
Code:$ sudo apt-get install libqt4-gui $ sudo apt-get install libqt4-dev
Please, check if scratchbox dns is properly set. It is confuse because we have dns setting for the emulator and for the scratchbox itself. You need to check the file /scratchbox/etc/resolv.conf (not logged into scratchbox). See this link.Code:Err http://repository.maemo.org fremantle/sdk Release.gpg Temporary failure resolving 'repository.maemo.org'
I saw another problem related to proxy. I set a proxy during SDK installation (using http_proxy environment). I noted that this configuration is kept in scratchbox when I decided to use a new the SDK in a new network with no proxies.
Just making a 99proxy is not sufficient. There is also a dns problem which you can solve using this code
Above command should be executed from the normal linux shell without /scratchbox/loginCode:cat /etc/resolv.conf | sudo tee /scratchbox/etc/resolv.conf
Refer this wiki article for the remaining Qt installation
Hi I followed the instructions on wiki but when I try to do "apt-get update" the system tells this :
0% [connecting to nokes.nokia.com] and it doesn't go further. Remains 0% till exit for time exceeded.
what could be the problem ?
This in scratchbox? Try network inside and outside of scratchbox. If its only failing inside, you probably suffer from a problem in scratchbox: Scratchbox has several internal copies of resolv.conf that need to be updated. See http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=185068
The reason for that is VMWare image contains apt configured with internal Nokia network proxy settings.
What you need to do is to update proxy in case you are using proxy, or remove proxy configuration in case
you are not using proxy. The configuration is located inside scratchbox: /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/99proxy
Have tried making the pre-configured virtual image work. At the moment my problem is that qmake won't run. When I have copied my Qt project to scratchbox and want to use qmake I get 'bash: qmake: command not found'. What to do?
Pesky virtual image!
Looks like there is no Qt installed inside scratchbox. To get a list of qt related packages inside scratchbox, use
Then to install packages, useCode:apt-cache search qt
ATM I do not know which packages are needed, but something like qt-dev-tools is a good candidate.Code:fakeroot apt-get install <paketname>
We have pretty detailed wiki with installation steps both for Qt 4.5.3 and Qt 4.6:
Thanks axeljaeger and divanov, I will check it out.
Nothing works, so now I deleted my image and try starting all over with the virtual image setup.
I have tried setting up enviroments for J2ME, BlackBerry and iPhone development, but this crappy Maemo enviroment takes the prize as the worst setup experience ever.
