Thanks for your reply, I have created one application in J2me for Nokia N95 with Netbeans IDE. Now I would like create a
    PHP Code:
     sign
for that. I have already tryed that but it shows certification error when application installs in N95 device.

for that I have followed like here. I have created a
    PHP Code:
    .cer
extension file that i have installed in the Mobile with jar.

Could you please give your steps what it requires exactly?

    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Santhosh.

You can't create your own certificate. Well, you can, but the phone won't recognize it. You need to sign with a certificate for which the phone already has the matching "root certificate". The root certificate enables the phone to validate the signature in your JAD.

If you want to build a trusted application, you need to buy a certificate from Thawte or Verisign, or get your application certified through the Java Verified process, depending on what works for your target devices.

If an application is signed with a certificate that the phone does not recognize, then the application cannot be installed. Usually, you cannot install your own certificate on the phone.

Application signing is a complicated and troublesome area of MIDP, and you are best to avoid it is you possibly can.

That's nice. Perhaps you should ask David Hayes why his instructions don't work.

I'd suggest you forget that page completely, and try reading this article in the Nokia wiki. You don't need to run jarsigner, it's not needed for MIDP signing and will just make your JAR bigger. And you need to buy a certificate.

No, you cannot self-sign. If you want to sign your app, you must buy a certificate. Read the articles in the wiki, all the information you need is there.
