    N85 and sensor accelerometer...

    Hi,

I need to develop a Java application that accesses the accelerometer sensor of the phone and send data over Wi-fi to a computer ...

So I decided to buy a N85 (I believe to be the best option), but would like to know before it is possible to access your sensor in JAVA app. Because some people say yes and others not.

I read about JSR256, but do not know if this available in n85.

Thanks to help from people who have experience with this device.

I am Brazilian, and Portuguese on the pages do not have much information on the subject
    Sorry for my bad English..

    Att,
    Bruno

Smile Re: N85 and sensor accelerometer...

    Hello,

N85 doesn't support the JSR 256 Mobile Sensor API 1.0 as mentioned in the device specification of N85 from Forum nokia website.

So application written in java using JSR 256 will not work, as the device must support appropriate Java APIs.

However I found that N97 supports JSR 256 Mobile Sensor API 1.0 which will allow j2me midlets to run on it.

If you want to develop an application using C++ you can use S60 Sensor Framework APIs.

    It's a matter of attitude.
