    How to install keypress module

    Hi,

I'm new to programming on the phone and I found it fantastic.
I would like to simulate a key press to activate the loudspeaker when an incoming call arrives.
I've seen that there is a module called keypress which contains functions capable of simulating key presses.

Now, can somebody provide a small procedure on how to install this module on the phone (S60 5th edition) to be able to use these functions. I have installed phytnonfors60 1.9.7 and Python 2.5 (no emulator).

Thanks and sorry if a dumb question I could not find this info in the messages.

    hello cocopendorcho

installing an extension module if available is very easy and its like installing any other application to your device.

and about keypress module its available for 3rd edition devices follow this thread and i am not sure about S60 5th edition devices.

Re: How to install keypress module

Thank you gaba88 for the link.

I have submited the sys file for signature I'm waiting now.

On the link there are two files:
    1) A sys file (the one I've sent for signature)
    2) A zip file containing several files

What is the zip file for?
Is it to build a sys file ourselves using the pys60 application packager?

Thank you again for your time.

hmmm the zip file contains the source code of the extension and that is needed if you need to compile the extension for yourself.

Now you have given the sis for signing but i feel that will not work as that has been comiplied for 3rd edition PyS60 1.4.5 devices you need to compile the extension for latest Pys60 1.9.7 to get that working properly.

    Hope you got my point

I'll try with the signed version. If it does not work I'll try to follow the instruction on the readme file within the zip to compile the module (I hope this is what you mean!).
It does not look so easy though!

    Thank you
I'll report the end of the history for other users.

    Bad luck.
The signed version does not work in S60 5th edition with pys60 1.9.7 as gaba88 said.
I've tried to compile it following the readme within keypress_1.0.6_src.zip with no success.

I would be really nice if the keypress module can be updated to latest versions of pys60, SDK ans S60 as there are more and more telephones with the new S60.

    Thank you all.
