Flash Lite GPS API on 6700?

Is it possible to access the GPS hardware in the Nokia 6700 with Flash Lite?

I love my 6700 - including the basic GPS application.
But I would like to be able to display my current position and speed with Flash Lite (or in some other way).

    For example
    N 55° 40.2'
    E 12° 32.3'
    Speed 0.0

Nokia 6700 being a Series40 phone, there are no ways for Flash to capture GPS data. For S60 edition phones, you have Platform services and other such libraries, but none for Series 40 handsets.

Oops here is a confusion. 6700 classic is S40 phone & 6700 slide is S60 phone. Which one u r using ?? If u r using a S40 phone then u can give a try to SWFxME which extends flash lite using J2ME and JSR-179 but YES it needs good j2me knowledge . Wish u luck

    Thank you SajiSoft and Manikantan.

So which language and/or platform should I use to write an application that can display current position and speed on a 6700 classic?

    Allright!
I'll start studying up on Java. Not so much the language - but application deployment.

Re: Flash Lite GPS API on 6700?

    Hi,

Did anyone ever work out how to access and use GPS data on the 6700c S40 phone? I bought one of these phones specifically because it had an internal GPS and now I find out I can't even get my current coordinates, just a dot on a map. That's fine in a city, but less than useless out in the countryside where the map is just a blank - I need to see my coordinates.

I'd really appreciate an email to rosullivan2@yahoo.ie if anyone has any ideas!

    Thanks.

Re: Flash Lite GPS API on 6700?

I have not found any solution that I like. However, it is possible to get mapping software at www.getjar.com, some of which does display coordinates. So maybe you can find a solution to your taste there.

Myself - I'm still looking for at dedicated application that only displays my current position, course and speed.

    For example
    N 55° 40.2'
    E 12° 32.3'
    Course 183°
    Speed 0.0 kn
